These lessons are here for teachers to use. Many, if not most of these lesson are done in cooperation with our school's librarian and the classroom teacher.  If you find a broken link or you'd like something added, let me know that as well. I love hearing back from teachers who stumble across this webpage. I'm always added more lessons, so check back!
Thanks ~ Cheryl Phillips, Instructional Technology Coach

PowerPoint! Yes, PowerPoint (A favorite)

PowerPoint has come a long way! I love all the things you can do, including downloading slides as a jpg, or make a movie, combine images, video, music, photos and audio to create mulitmedia pages. Add to any webpage or project! It really is a super tool. One of the best features is how the design mode can format your pictures.

To the left you can see the ideas that PowerPoint design mode suggested for four (4) pictures I placed on the same slide. Below is what I used. Yes, in addition to Bo and SkeIf, I also have a skeleton who occasionally travels with me.

Textorizer, Textorizer 2, Excoffizer

Fun tool that allows you to make pictures formed with text. It is best described by the sample images below. Although there are many versions around, the only one that is continuing to supported is this one. Excoffizer takes a picture and produces a vector rendition of the picture, made of parallel lines of varying thickness.
Perfect for EL students!

  2. Select a picture on your computer
  3. Play with the controls or enter new text, and press preview
