Making a Brochure with Microsoft Publisher

 

1. Getting Started:

·        Open Microsoft Publisher (or, if it is already open, from the File menu, select Create New Publication).

·        From the PageWizard tab, select Brochure, then click OK.

·        Select a brochure style (click More if you want to see more styles) and then click Next. Choose an option and then click Next to move to the next page.

·        Click Create It!

·        On each page of the Design Assistant, choose an option and then click Next to move to the next page. When the Design Assistant asks you if you want step-by-step help as you finish, click Yes or No, then click OK. If you choose Yes here, Publisher’s Help will display as you work with your brochure.

2. Insert digital images into your brochure:

·        Create digital images by scanning photographs or taking pictures with a digital camera

3. Adjust the size and location of each image as needed so that it fits in your brochure.

4. Replace the text provided with your own words.

5. Save your brochure:

·        From the File menu, select Save As.

·        In the Save As window, locate and open the folder where you want to save the brochure.

·        Type a name for your brochure, then click Save.

6. Select the print quality and paper type:

·        From the File menu, select Print.

·        Click Properties.

·        Select the print quality and paper type. Use low quality for drafts.

7. Print the first side of your brochure:

·        From the File menu, select Print.

·        In the Page Range field, select Pages, then enter from 1 to 1 to print the first side of your brochure.

·        Click OK to begin printing.

8. Print the second side of your brochure:

·        When the first side of your brochure finishes printing, remove the brochure from the output tray and place it back into the paper tray. (To ensure proper alignment, ask your teacher how to properly place the paper back into the printer.)

·        From the File menu, select Print.

·        In the Page Range field, select Pages, then enter from 2 to 2 to print the second side of your brochure.

·        Click OK to begin printing.

9. Fold your brochure.
