This is the African Elephant. It is the largest land animal in the world. It has BIG ears.

It has a long trunk.

Elephants run towards their enemies with its BIG TUSKS to protect itself.

Elephants must keep walking and walking to find food and water.

The African Elephant eats 300 pounds of plants a day! That's like you eating 20 BIG cooked TURKEYS in one day!

It uses the two finger like things on the end of its trunk to eat.

If you touch and elephant, you would find out that their skin is ROUGH and THICK!  Even though it's thick, an elephant's skin is also very sensitive. Elephants will spray themselves with water, or roll in the mud or dust for protection from sun and biting insects.

At the end of a long day, the elephant sleeps.

Good night, Elephant!
